Children's Museum Names Top 100 Toys of Past Century

And the Favorite Toy is G.I. Joe®!

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis Visitors and Fans Choose their Favorite Toy from the '100 Toys (& their Stories) that Define Our Childhood'

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 11, 2012 -- After eight weeks of voting, more than 24,000 votes, and 600 stories shared, the final results are in and The Children's Museum of Indianapolis online visitors and fans have determined their favorite toy from the past century. The top toy is G.I. Joe®!

On July 16, the public was asked to weigh in on the '100 Toys (& their Stories) that Define Our Childhood'. The goal was to determine favorites from a list of 100 toys iconic of childhood as chosen by curators of The Children's Museum's collection. After the initial five weeks of public voting, the list of 100 Toys was narrowed down to the top 20 from which the public was again asked to rank favorites. The results of this last vote determined the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.

The final order for the top 20 toys is:

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 21, 2012-- The results are in and more than 20,000 Children's Museum of Indianapolis online visitors and fans have voted for their favorite toys from the last century. It is all part of the '100 Toys (& their Stories) that Define Our Childhood' interactive in which the museum asked people to choose the top 20 toys to represent the last 100 years. This list of 20 iconic toys includes:

Beginning today, the public is once again invited to vote for their favorites among the top 20 to rank the toys, which will ultimately determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners.

Children's Museum Seeks Votes for Top 100 Toys

World's Largest Children's Museum Asks for Public Input on Top "100 Toys (and Their Stories) That Define Our Childhood"

INDIANAPOLIS, July 17, 2012 -- The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is asking children and families to choose their favorite toys as part of the museum's new project "100 Toys (& their Stories) that Define Our Childhood." This interactive program is organized by The Children's Museum to encourage children and significant adults in their lives to vote for their favorites from a list of 100 iconic and multi-generational toys from the museum's collection. These toys represent fun and imaginative ways children have played over the last century. Families across the country are invited to help choose the top toys and share their favorite memories of each toy online at http://www.childrensmuseum.org/100toys.
