So..who actually asked for Star Wars Angry Birds toys anyway?
While trying to track down a lot of different toys and christmas gifts over the past month, there is one thing that is clear in Central Florida: There is no shortage of SW Angry Birds Toys and no one appears to be buying them. I saw a Hasbro rep try and over stock an endcap of these toys at Walmart to only giveup because the toys kept falling over. I asked him where the SW Vintage, Marvel Legends, and MU Figures were and he said he hasn't a case of either in a month or more. I also saw SW AB in Tj Maxx, which tells you that someone is concerned about being stuck with this garbage long term. Nice job Hasbro, maybe you can put together a quick holiday bundle, wrap a Phantom Menace Vintage Figure to a SW Angry Bird set and call it the Angry Turd Special Value Set.
I know what you mean. Two weeks before Christmas and my Star Wars Vintage section at my local Wal Mart still has not received anything since February. They have a few Clone Wars from about 4 months ago. The action figure isle is the biggest joke these days.
And yet, the angry birds abound. I love the game, but not the toys.
Speaking as a parent of a fiver-year-old, the Star Wars/Angry Bird mash-up concept is a huge hit. It blends two of his favorite things. So the toys are big on his Christmas list. I suspect that's the target audience. Now if the retailers are buying too much, that's a different story.

Nope, Emerje. I've never played it either. Regardless of how the new SW movies turn out, with Disney's ownership I fear that superfluous merchandising will only get worse from here on out.
As someone who works in retail, I can't describe in words how much I despise all the Angry Birds merchandise I've seen.

Our kid is the same age and is equally crazy about the combination. He's already got most of the plush toys (which are on sale at Amazon at the moment if you are missing any) and keeps asking for the Hasbro stuff. My problem with the Hasbro items is that there is just so much of it... so I'm going to be a cheap parent and hold out for a sale or clearance on the Hasbro stuff.
