Why would they mention that because he used his rewards card he was caught? That just tells future low-life scumbags not to. I'm sure at some point they would have been caught anyway, but still, don't give away all your policing secrets.

Maybe the guy was just really, really bitter over never winning the Nickelodeon Toys R' Us Super Toy Run when he was a kid. Wink

Wow, seems some folks need to familiarize themselves with the basic super-hero rules:

Never tell the bad guy what his mistake was; that way, he may make the same mistake next time.

.

I thought it was pretty common for both heroes and villains to point out each others mistakes.

Of course, in fiction, while the villains might practice and do test-runs before the "real" heist, and might even repeat themselves until caught, once they fail they never do it again. They never take the hero's helpful "you forgot about... " and refine the scheme, they just go back to square one and start cooking up an entirely new scheme. Just like in movies where the plan to catch/kill the monster fails, they always abandon that particular plan completely rather than try to refine the original plan, no matter how small a fix would be needed or how large a fluke it was that it didn't work the first time.

These cops need to remember that this is real life and they're not just laughing it up with Chief O'Hara about how that nutty Penguin forgot about Daylight Savings Time.

I wonder why this didn't set the store alarms off....

It's possible the device was deactivated at the register. Then again there have been a number of times I've bought something that set off the alarms and they tell me I'm OK so that could be the case as well. I think Walmart is the only store that actually stops people who are carrying bags, everyone else seems to think if you went through the checkout then it's them, not you.
