Does anybody know if this is gonna be available on toyrus.com (like MP Thundercracker)? After reading so many reviews I kind of want it, but there's no way I'll be able to score it at my TRS (Toys R' Scalped).

It was available before, and I'm sure it will be again, but no idea if it'll be in stock for long periods of time like TC.

It was available for pre-order on toysrus.com over the weekend about three weeks ago, but they appear to have over-sold it. It seems like most folks who ordered later in the day are having their orders cancelled for insufficient stock.

However, I really suspect this one will be on-hand in pretty much every store. This is kinda their big TF Christmas item. Keep hope alive!

I dunno... wasn't Rodimus released around this time last year? I never saw him, and only saw Grimlock once. I know this is Optimus and they've supposedly learned from the Rodimus thing, but, at least at my local TRU, the space devoted to Transformers is shrinking (maybe a quarter of an aisle now) and there are like four lines they're peddling at once: The reveal the shield/classics/generations line, the Prime toys, the botshots and the leftover movie toys that nobody wants. Plus the asian exclusives. And that gigantic Prime legends-size base also takes up a large chunk of space.

People have been saying that TC has been showing up in droves, but I've still never seen one here in scalper central. I'm sure there are tons at Frank and Sons, though.

Meanwhile Home Depot toys get a whole aisle devoted to them.

This Prime looks amazing...with Soundwave coming and Thundercracker out there, my TF collection is about to grow!

I saw cases and stacks of these on the overstock at my TRU, so looks like they will be plentiful for a while. Plus they seemed to restock TC today as well.

Always happy to oblige, Brian. Yeah, if Hasbro doesn't release that MP Soundwave in a gift set with all the cassettes, I'll be sharpening my pitchfork.

Customer reps have been telling people TRU.com won't be getting any more Primes in, it was a one time sale. Make of that as you will, it's not like you can actually trust a TRU rep.

Wait, cases and stacks of MP Optimus? Where are you located?

I know this means absolutely nothing, but the last time there was an Masterpiece Optimus Prime...it ended up on clearance.

Same with Walmart's Skywarp and Starscream.

On the other hand, Grimlock and Rodimus were almost impossible to find. And I know Grimlock has at least shot up in value.

These Masterpieces seem to be a crapshoot when it comes down to how hard/easy they are to get. I would wait a while longer, and if they really don't get anymore shipments, getting one after christmas on Ebay can probably be done with a slight 10-20% markup... (hopefully)

The original Optimus was not an exclusive. Skywarp and Starscream were Walmart exclusives, but the harder to find Grimlock and Rodimus were TRU exclusives, and recent ones at that. Now maybe TRU learned from the shortages and ordered more, but I've had a tough time with TRU transformers exclusives releasing around Xmas from the time they got the Animated exclusives and I never found animated Arcee...

On the other hand, I don't think I've ever had a tough time getting a Target exclusive, but those are mainly repaints...

I remember quite well that my local Wal-Mart mispriced the original MP Prime for $1. I think I got the last two. =)

found 2 of these yesterday. well... found isn't exactly accurate. i'd been calling local tru for the past 10 days. and by local, i mean any tru within a 90 min drive. so that gives me about 9 tru. of those 9, only 1 got these in the past 10 days. so i asked them to hold one, raced up and was able to grab both. one for me and the other for a buddy.

based on past experience, i have ZERO faith that these will be around in a month. i saw grimlock a couple times but rodimus once.

If there were as few Walmart stores as there are TRU stores you can bet Starscream and Skywarp would have been instant sell-outs as well. Heck even then some of us weren't lucky enough to see Starscream more than once if at all.
