Just a heads up for all you customizers out there, the best ball joint kits on the market, YellowSub/Hobby Base Ball Joints are available from Big Bad Toy Store! Until now only place to order these was from Hobby Link Japan or another import site and we were stuck paying international shipping/exchange rate fees. Not anymore! These are the same ball joints I use in all my online customizing guides and great for making ball jointed heads, wrists, feet, waists, etc. The basic Ball Joint sets have 3 different sizes in each package come in clear and grey. They even have the off-brand Revoltech style joints (ball shape) that work with those figures.

Snag all of the Hobby Base Ball Joint sets here!

Thank you for the heads up, Jin; I'm eager to try this. Will you please recommend what size is best for shoulder/hip joints in the 6" (1:12) scale?

I really don't know, never used them for shoulders or hips before. The 'ball shape' ones would be better suited for that as the clear/grey ones are basically used for sections that are hidden. Like you drill into a neck or wrist and glue the ball cup in there, it doesn't show.

I don't understand. What is the difference between the "ball joint" and "ball shape" products they list? Difficult to tell from the pictures.

The "ball joint" ones are like a cup and ball joint, good for things like neck and waist joints, things that just need to pivot a little. You can use them for shoulders, but you wont get much ROM outside of forward and back and a little bit to the outside. The "ball shape" joint is your traditional joint that can bend at a right angle. Since they have pegs on each end they can swivel as well.
