I just don't feel the excitement like I used to.

The Sideshow Star Wars looks great..Hoth Luke and Han look amazing. But maybe it's too late? Does anyone feel like they've lost some of the luster these items had?

I find myself excited for the 6" line because it's different, but even then I just want Maul and maybe Artoo.

I remember years of literally salivating during SDCC week..now it's mild excitement.

After years of collecting, I feel like I have the best versions of most characters and the really obscure ones like Jason Todd, Hush and General Veers are never going to be released in wide scale formats again. How many Darth Mauls Vaders and Storm Shadows can one own?

The Retaliation 3.5 wave of ultimate Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow will probably mark the end of collecting that line for me.

Wrestling /Mattel have some great new figures, but how many CM Punks do I need? Especially when they nailed a great sculpt 2 years ago and haven't made a better one yet.

My only ongoing interest is with Transformers..they have such an open universe to work with on classic characters especially with 3rd party product.

I just hope I haven't...grown up!!!

i totally get where you're coming from.

but i think i might be coming from a slightly different perspective. the only things i'm really looking forward to are things that are mired in stupidity(to me) or are plagued by a history of suck.

star wars: first wave is meh. i'll grab maul and maybe r2. maybe. but greedo being in the 2nd wave doesn't exactly get me stoked for upcoming waves. he doesn't even make my top 75 star wars must-haves and he's already in wave 2? seems kinda like a bone-headed move.

wwe: only thing i've been excited for was a flashback brock lesnar and it looks like he's a ringside exclusive. so that means higher price tag. that sucks 2 ways for me. 1. the higher price tag just plain sucks(i don't even understand why he's exclusive. he'd sell like crazy at retail). 2. i'm a customizer and he has semi-hard-to-find pieces. so my plans for getting a few of him have been shot in the ass.

ml: while the new stuff looks great, ml in my area is either peg-warming HARD or on the shelf for 5 mins and gone forever. i have ZERO faith that if anything new does come in that i'll see it. so why get excited for something that has a pretty excellent chance of not hitting?

dc collectibles: some GREAT looking stuff in here. but my last few purchases have had MAJOR paint app issues. MAJOR. i'm betting nightwing's red paint app will be smudged like a mother which sucks the fun right of collecting.

gi joe: upcoming releases look GREAT. but, like ml, everything around here may as well be a permanent fixture for how quickly it moves. so i have zero faith that i'll see anything new.

and yes, i know. i could order online. and i will likely have to start down that path. but it's just not as fun, going that route.

If it wasn't for DST and NECA, this show would be a waste for me. I used to be so excited for Star Wars, Marvel, and DC Products, now between horrific distribution and case pack outs, I was unimpressed with what those companies had to offer.
Winners: Neca (more Aliens, Predators - cool new concepts even with re-using sculpts, Kick A 2, ED 209...)
DST - Minimates...nuff said for me. New Charactors, New Lines, still the best value in toys today. Marvel Select Movie Wolverine looks better than any of the Wolverine Legends figures shown.
Losers: Hasbro - Star Wars and Marvel. The 6" Black Series is coming just too late. Great now I get a 6" Boba Fett, what do I do with the 25 other versions of little Fett? Based on Hasbro's horrific product availibility and distribution, I rarely look at Star Wars toys anymore...what's there another Naboo Trooper? After being a die hard Marvel Fan for years, I can't get excited for figures that end of being varaints or running changes that never get released...ever.
Mattel continues to suck...no New Movie Masters for MOS and the New Batman Show looks terrible.

The only WWE I really want is the Brock and JBL flashbacks.

There was nothing in the ML MU lines that excited me which was sad. Where is Stryfe??

Sideshow? Too expensive excite me anymore and too hard to display at this point.

I'm glad I'mnot the only one even if for different reasons.

Geez.. Lighten up for a minute!

Most of the stuff is held back until Saturday, remember? The booths are refreshed after the panels. There will be more to gawk at in a few days.

Besides, I hear the ML line is ending already. Minimates has a "big" new license they'll announce Saturday. More Star Wars and likely Marvel will be shown at Hasbro's booth.

Did you guys really forget how SDCC works? There's always stuff held back until Saturday.

I feel the same as GlobalDomination about the Marvel Legends. I love these things. I collect everyone, even characters I wasn't counting on. But not being able to find them at retail or paying a higher price than they should be is wearing me down fast. Just make them all available at a decent price and I will buy them all. And I really wish they would make more of the SCDD exclusives. I think in these times, the hard to find exclusives will do nothing but make a lot of collectors quite altogether. Collecting is just not as fun anymore.

I've about given up on Star Wars. I didn't collect all, but most. It's just that their character selection is flat out awful. I'm tired of the same characters over and over and over. And forget about the 6" line. Not even an option, especially when R2 is too small-Come on Hasbro.

You know, I just picked up a ML series 1 Thor at Target. First time I've ever seen the figure in the wild, and despite not coming with a BAF piece, it's a gorgeous figure. Would have picked up the rest of the line for the BAF (I had already picked up Hope), but Rogers was missing, and none of the other ones were compelling enough on their own. But if they were all available at retail, I would have bit. And this is wave 1 from last year, isn't it?

MU is similar, I see the same figures all the time, and I know I've already missed out on multiple waves. I still want a Nova, but there are many figures I would have picked up if I saw them in the wild.

With my excitement about DC winding down with the whole subscription thing, I may be done with super hero figures for a while. Except for lego (SDCC exclusives aside).

I preordered those bigger Star Wars Black figures at BBTS, but when the final release photos came trickling out, and the R2 in particular was changed... I cancelled. Don't need another line. I didn't get too deep into the smaller figures (thankfully) but I can save up and wait for the yearly (biyearly?) Hot Toys SW release. And again, there are SW legos...

Transformers will always pull me back in... even this Beast Hunters line that I swore I'd avoid, I've gotten a few, and heck, I couldn't resist the Wreckers despite being retooled from a design I hated. But as far as SDCC goes, we already got a bunch of reveals at Botcon, so it's a bit anticlimactic. They are doing incredible things, though (even if I'm not a fan of the cheapy upsized legends-style stuff that's going to be coming out... I can save money on that)

I do collect Transformers 3P stuff, mainly the igear minibots and the combiners that would be a challenge for Hasbro to pull off in the Masterpiece or Classics lines. Though the recent delay in the rest of Uranos and the add on set have kinda dampened my enthusiasm (though if the MMC stuff comes in shortly, that will swiftly be forgotten).

cool! i'll keep an eye out for you!

does anyone know if they defined what would be happening with the ml variants that were supposed to make it in to production but never did? i know they said they weren't making it into their allotted slots, but was a final destination announced?

Apparently the ML variants have been produced, but the running changes will not happen. Hasbro is supposedly looking for a distributor of said figures. Possibly a retailer exclusive.
