Yep, type in the old buzz and it takes you here. No more ex-cons stalking and threatening to kill us and our families! Hey, that's got to be a good thing, right?

I was confused for a second, but then I was like
My Granpappy always said if you try to chase two rabbits, you catch none.

.....did that actually happen??
I thought people can still get here and be anonymous, like the rude hater that lashed at Blanka on his thread: http://www.toymania.com/node/8647
Ultimately a good thing, and I'm sure it was a ton of work. Still sad to see the old buzz go. Probably my last regular site that went unchanged all these years (in a good way).
I refreshed the old buzz and it changed and well guess gotta start posting sooner or later...
I'm going to miss the old one, and the "at a glance" format. Guess I need to get used to this one now. Still, I'm beyond grateful Bobbi & Rob go to so much trouble for everyone - they're pretty awesome that way!
An era has ended for me. The old Buzz has been my homepage since the late nineties. I grew up there, and it was my first "home" on the internet.
Well, here's to the future, kids.
Amen, RS.
A new day for an old community...

Same here.I had to check the buzz within the first 15 mins when I would get online everyday.
Thank You Bobbi & Rob for this next generation of The buzz.
It will get a little used too but the journey will be worth it.
The Buzz evolved. RTM shall never die.
Rest in Peace Old Buzz,
And welcome to the New Buzz,
Times have changed
Yes, times have changed. Wow, still difficult to get accustomed to in many ways... .

From the AOL boards, to the old Buzz, to this Buzz and beyond, my friend.
The adventure continues...

The Old Buzz will be missed.
Still not a fan of this new one.
Here is a blast from the past (when I still posted daily):
http://web.archive.org/web/20000824140746/http://www.toymania.com/toybuzz/
Wow, that whole "wayback machine" thing takes a person...well...way back.
Hard to believe a good dozen or more years have passed since I first began following the Buzz all because of my boys and their obsession w/Speed Racer. (All my fault, of course.) Now 16 & 17, they've begun driving themselves, but they and their sister still have a deed-rooted appreciation for toys and collecting action figures of their favorite characters. Now, for my daughter (who turns 20 this month--OY!), that love has evolved into cosplay too, which I think is half the reason she opted for a school out on Long Island so she could be near NYC.
But anyway...I guess this is evolution, my friends. Cripes, if I'm still here in 10 years, I'll probably be posting about what my grandkids are into and how to chase down what their into. Circle of life or something, eh?!
Wow..
Mothers Mortal Enemy, Spackling Compound, President Luthor, TSR..
Where are these guys? I wish we could track them down.
Hmm... I have paid no attention to usernames in the past decade of coming here. Now I fear I'm going to start associating certain posters with certain attitudes.
Whatcha mean?
...so the old links bring us here now. I held out hope that somehow the old Buzz could survive alongside the new, but I guess that was a pretty unrealistic view on my part.
Nothing against Bobbi and Rob... and maybe it is just a bit of nostalgia talking right now... but I just can't see myself adapting to this new version. I much preferred the crazy stream of consciousness the old format offered. That is what made the old Buzz appealing to me for so many years. The new format isn't bad, but it just looks like all those other forums that I don't take the time to search through and post on.
With all that being said, if I do retire from posting on the Buzz due to the new format (which is where my mind is currently)... I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone involved with starting and keeping the Buzz alive for all those years- Jason, Jeff, Bobbi, Rob, and anyone else that I may be forgetting. You guys gave me my first forum "home" on the web, something I will always appreciate.
...and a hearty thanks to the all the posters who have ever visited the Buzz. You really have given me more enjoyment than total strangers really should.
Good luck new Buzz! May you ensnare folks and keep them in your clutches for years just like the old Buzz did to me! Hopefully, you'll make them feel so welcome and at home that they might one day have the same feelings that I currently have for the old Buzz....
James "Sallah" Sawyer
Sallah,
The grass is always greener, especially if you've never really bothered to venture onto another lawn before.
While the new format might be like many others, it is still the community that makes it what it is. We had maybe 25 solid, contributing members at the Old Buzz...if we maintain that here, it won't be hard to track posts and follow along especially if you clock the subscribe button.
At least give it a try...you can always move on after the fact if you don't like it.
Wow..

I don't think President Luthor ever recovered after shutting up those jerks who slagged off HIS auction.

HAHAHA "That's MY auction jerks!" Classic Buzz.
Now where's Jeff Cope???
the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Very cool! I must be getting old though because I honestly don't remember if Brian GSO was me. My first name is Brian and I'm in Greensboro (GSO), so I think it was... Eventually I just switched to my initials.
End of an Era but what the hell, time and tide wait for no man! Onward to the future!
Yes. Long live the new Toymania!
hmmmm me no likey me old me likey old ways
me DO likey new bot filter though....not all bad
I feel like we should play TAPS or something. Still, VERY glad to see the old colors remain. It's such a signature part of RTM.
I started on the old Buzz back in 1998. Now I'm starting on the new Buzz in 2012. Wow... it's crazy to think that this is an eternity for the internet.

Too many Brian's..glad I claimed it early:)
Unfortunately, I'm with Sallah. Not a fan of the new Buzz at all. I appreciate everything Bobbi and Rob have done, but I'm out.
Maybe I'll pop in from time to time, but I think I'm done.
Have fun everyone.

Oh well..more cake for us. JJJ, please pass the Hawaian Punch...
I too am underwhelmed by the new Buzz...although I appreciate the effort, believe me!
I didn't mind the old Buzz, warts & all. The new Buzz is so (yawn) sterile.
The new Buzz is the way Kirby would have wanted it.
-JJJ
Someone could just create a generic thread called "old buzz lives!" and everyone could just start posting in it as if it were the old format. The only real difference would be you could see all the responses without clicking through. And no "nt" or "OT" needed.
Oh well..more cake for us.
How has simian NOT replied to this yet?
Mmmmm.....Cake
LOL! Hilarious! I keep expecting to see solicits from NECA for a "Human Centipede" statue or inaction figure.
I've been from rec.toys.misc to Eric and Jason's RTM and even met Rob and Bobbi in person: but this me-too, sterile environment isn't for me. I was never a Buzz luminary, nor would claim to be.
I know Clan killer is a fan, but I'm with RS, Allah, and Dare. This place stinks.
Thanks to Bobbi and Rob for keeping RTM alive as long as they have.
Anybody know a good place to talk toys now?
I remember that we met at WW Chicago a few years back, as you wanted one of the minotaurs, but I think it was one of the others and not our red one. But I do remember it.
We knew we would lose some readers when we made this change. There was no really good way to upgrade that forum software that would also allow other updates to the site. It wasn't a decision we made lightly.
I'm sorry to see anyone go, but I understand and respect your decision.
And keep tweeting - you crack me up on twitter! (Note: Man-Thing's tweets NSFW)

Ouch. I can understand you not liking the format and I wish I did not need to register to avoid seeing troll posts and spam. I'm sure there are people that wish they could still smoke on planes and use lead paint too.
In all seriousness, my point is that sometimes change is a necessity. The site look isn't a life or death issue and I just don't get why people that have been so loyal to this site (essentially, Bobbi & Rob) wouldn't just be a bit flexible and try to help develop it with them. For years, they spent their personal time having to clear out all Shocker, Benoit, Beckett, Info, etc etc posts while we all enjoyed the site.
Asking "What's a good place to talk toys now??" Really? C'mon man..that's not cool.
I can't say it enough..Community is what makes RTM strong. You can go to one of hundreds of other sites and talk toys..but it won't be the same.
All that said, I will miss you Man-Thing.
Yep, you and Bobbi even went out of your way to give me the Minotaur I wanted.
I understand why you needed to make the change, but 15(?) years of the old Buzz is hard to forget.
And nobody should be reading my twitter account. It's filthy, derogatory, misogynistic, unsanitary, sorta racist, and fattening. It's so terrible I think it will give you cancer.
Dude...I need a link. Like yesterday...
Anybody know a good place to talk toys now?
In all seriousness, I recommend 4chan. Culture takes a bit of getting used to, and it's totally nsfw especially when b/ does a (bleep) invasion, but a lot of good people hang out there with knowledge on a great range of subjects. And it's a bit like the old buzz the way posts just show up and slowly head to page 15. ( There is no page 16)
Why cannot I post here anymore? My ID is Bane and I should be able to post!
I think it's a cookie thing that I'm going to undo later tonight when everyone's in bed, as it involves taking everything offline to fix. Which browser are you on?
Test post....
Toy Fair ML pics made me weep...
