I know one of the first offerings was close, bbut I thought that the perfected it along the way. Albeit, I own "0" DCUC and and am fairly ignorant. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

That's gotta be series 1 Detective Batman.
Although, there's a TRU 2-pack coming out this spring with AzBats that's also has a light blue and gray Batman. But it has "battle damage" scratches on his chest, which I'd prefer weren't there. But that's also pretty close to the SP version.
Also, series 1 Detective Batman was re-released as an AllStar (with a little richer blue and brighter yellow paint, I think, but basically the same figure), in a later series, I think renamed as Crime Stopper Batman.
I would get a series 1 or All-Star Batman and swap heads with the upcoming Batman/Azrael two-pack.
That'll get you a Super Powers style Batman.
Here's pics of DCUC Series One Batman (Detective Batman), which I agree is closest to the Super Powers figure: http://cooltoyreview.com/Mattel_DCUC_1Batman.asp
I thought I read somewhere that the battle damage on the upcoming TRU two-pack Batman was removed. Maybe I just wishfully dreamed that though. :b

I have been wishfully dreaming for the same thing. I've been waiting for DCUC to make a proper "Super Powers" Batman, and if they get rid of that chest scratch then I'll have him.
It doesn't appear to be coming off, unless something drastic has happened. The factory production samples that are coming out of China have the tear marks across the symbol. I just got my pre-production sample of the Yellow Lantern Hal Jordan, so these packs are probably getting close to hitting. I don't see Mattel holding them back for the symbol(though like you guys, I think it would be better).

Agreed.
And I am truly let down by the fact they are keeping the battle damage on that Az 2pk Batman.
