I have several problems with them but this is easily my biggest. He seriously blows up a whole building full of Joker goons!

Anyways:

1) The Rocketeer - If you don't understand why it's number 1 you may not have a soul

2) Batman Begins/Dark Knight - I get why some people don't like them but on their own, but given their intention I think they're amazing.

3) Sin City - Beautiful and just amazing. Also I appreciate the incredibly faithful adaptation right down to the dialogue that just does not translate to screen.

4) Iron Man - Just a damn fun movie.

5) The Phantom - Again just a damn fun movie.

6) Hellboy - Something about it just always impresses me.

7) Captain America - It feels like it suffered from too many writters and studio interference, which is the only thing that pushed it this low on my list. Still a great flick.

The Incredible Hulk - Very underrated, possibly because of the awkwardness of the scenes revolving around the "cure", which I can agree with. Still a great watch.

9) Spider-Man - While I have some pretty big problems with the sequels, the only complaint I have with this one is the complete fly by of Peter's days in high school.

10) Punisher: War Zone - Over the top action-schlock done perfectly.

None of the others really stand out to me as being a "Best".

It was released as a DVD, though I don't know about an uncut version. Is there that much edited out of the regular DVD?

Nearly ten minutes of footage is (inexplicably) cut from the DVD release (including the short live-action scene at the very end of the movie). In addition, the film was created and aired on television in 16x9 widescreen, but the DVD presents it 4x3 fullscreen. It's an all-around disaster of a DVD release, which is a shame, 'cause IMHO Turtles Forever's awesome. :/

1. Superman 2-have always and will always love this film
Everything after this is pretty fluid on changing places easily
2. X-Men First Class
3. Iron Man-really set the bar for modern comics films for fun, action, effects and story
4. Thor
5. The Losers-haven't read any of the comics yet but it's just a fun film
6. The Rocketeer
7. Batman Begins-recently rediscovering this film and liking it more and more
8. The Dark Knight
9. the Blade films-mash em together hard enough to squeeze out some of the goofy and there are still a lot of good parts in there
10. Batman '89-say what you want but I just keep watching this film.

I'm guessing that a couple of those could get knocked off this year.

I can't even make it to 10. I've been very disappointed with live action superhero movies.

I'll not include animated "movies," but Timm is one of my faves.

I'd select, in order:
(1) The Rocketeer
One of the best translations of a comic character to live action. Breathtaking. All because Dave retained creative control.

(2) The Shadow
Technically, I'm sure this was a character somewhere...even the "costumed" superhero version. Heck...I liked Jonathan Winters.

(3) The Phantom
PAt McGoohan was too old and Billy Zane smiled too damn much. And the Phantom got all tatted up, and lost his striped trunks. Other than that, a valient attempt...until the "power ring" fight at the end.

I despise all of Marvel's live action movie attempts. Leather X-men. Miscast Spider-Man flicks...with singing. Captain America was OK. Iron Man should have been set in the 60s. Thor was a HUGE disappointment.

DC doesn't fair much better. Chris Reeve was a wimpy supes (but would have made a better Batman, IMO), and the black, plastic, muscle-suit? The less said about it...

When I watch Captain America for the first time next week (before I see The Avengers), I reckon I'll make that night a Joe Johnston double feature and revisit The Rocketeer (I haven't seen it since it was first released on VHS). :b

Watching them back to back definately makes the studio decisions of Captain America more evident, at least I thought so.
