Ok, Mattel seems to be sending mixed signals, so simple question: Are we getting the DKR Movie Masters?

I have been dying for the Michael Caine, Catwoman and JGL figures since first announced. But lately Mattel seems to be saying only that there will be a TDKR KIDS line? Anybody in the know on this?

Pretty sure they ARE being released, I just think this it's another case of marketing to moms and kids. Since the Movie Masters line is collector oriented and priced, I'm guessing Mattel sees it as a built-in sale and doesn't even mention it in press releases for their regular toylines. Just like the DCUC and MOTUC lines aren't mentioned in their shareholder reports (maybe just as licenses, but no references to the actual lines).

But I wouldn't worry, I don't recall the Movie Masters lines for Batman Begins or Dark Knight Returns being mentioned in press releases either, just the 2 lines for the kids and pre-teen segments. The "Evergreen" (seriously who comes up with these terms?) line usually gets the big push.

My question is what is the SDCC exclusive DKR Movie Masters item going to be (Toy Guru said it would have lights and sound) and will it be available through MattyCollector?

Uh oh.

Here's the Dark Knight Rises "kids" line up for pre-order. And they are terrible. Really hoping this isn't it for the movie releases.

Given that the Power Attack Batman toys look pretty fun, I have to question why they keep going with the ugly, "too accurate for it's own good" approach. Going all nitpicky about the suit on such tiny figures always has ugly results. Go stylized, throw in some different iterations of Bane and Bats from different incarnations but don't try to cram every crease and fold onto a tiny, non-articulated figure and dip it in drab paint.
