Do to some overly cautious production decisions, Hasbro is now trying to meet the demand of Avengers Figures by tell retailers to replace their inventory with IM2, Thor, and Cap leftovers.

I spoke with a friend of mine who is a team lead at a Target in North FL, and he was told today to change the DPCI on the Non-Avengers Figures to match the Avengers because stock heading to stores is very low. The local Walmart near me did the same thing, they have 65 "Avengers" in stock, 54 of the are Thor Movie Figs.

I took a trip to TRU at lunch and missed the Black Widow once again. I was able to snag a Hawkeye and Skrull, which I hope means another collector got them, taking a set of the new ones and leaving the leftovers. I can only hope Hasbro catches up before it's too late...

I wonder what this means for the standard and deluxe Loki's army/Chitauri figures. To my knowledge, Hasbro only showed the PR pics for them, but didn't announce whether they would be rotated into an existing case revision, or if they would be part of an all new wave 4 case.

If they have any sense, they'll release 3 of the standard Chitauri figure along with 2-3 Widows in a new case. The deluxe could easily be released in newer cases now since the current deluxe figures seemed to have been shipped in more limited quantities. I'm guessing at this point it all depends on how many cases retailers ordered.

Pretty sure this was planned all along and actually started at Walmart immediately when the Avengers pegs went up. Some stores here filled them with Cap figures and barely ever even got any Avengers in. Target never clearanced the Cap and Iron Man figures. When they went off the plan-o-gram, they just stuck them on an endcap or in backstock at full price. They did clearance Thor and those are long gone from Target. Of course TRU got in tons of Cap, Thor and Iron Man before the Avengers movie. So Hasbro always wanted to push the old stuff on stores and not give them the green light to clearance it yet. Target has done these DPCI "merges" before, like when Hulk Superhero Squad 2-packs got merged with the regular line.

Warhead, you are checking Walmart for the Widow, right?
I just found one 2 days ago in Connecticut.

Yes sir...been checking TRUs, Walmarts, and Targets. One Walmart got in two cases today, only 3 mangled Skrulls left at 6:15am. Targets...well you know... and since I can't be at TRU at opening, I have a 9 to 5 job, I take a lunch or after work run to TRU. Heading out tonight..I'm feeling lucky....

JediJones- Same exact thing happened here from day one; all the Walmarts padded the Avengers pegs with Cap and Thor. TRU has them actually separated in two spots in the Avengers display, but Target has them mixed right in on the endcap.

There is a major drought, and no place is stocking much new. Looks like Hasbro majorly underestimated this time, after overestimating the last few times. I'm a little worried about seeing the aliens, especially the deluxe ones (the present deluxe figures are one thing there' no shortage of on the pegs). I have to wonder why they were delayed and not in the earlier assortments. It's not like they were some big secret reveal to stun audiences and Marvel fans; they are a generic bunch of invading aliens whose revelation in toy form would have spoiled nothing.

What is it about Hasbro and Wave 3...

Thor Movie Wave 3..never showed up. Got my Laufey and King Loki from an online retailer.

Cap Movie Wave 3..hit 2 Walmarts once, no where else. Had to buy my Comic Conversion Hydras off ebay.

Avengers Wave 3...because Hasbro can't estimate the demand for their products, they have no stock to ship to stores and instead ships old movie product to retailers. Now that Wave 3 is "shipping", every store in my area is uber-loaded with old product and I will never see this wave. Only TRU is getting Wave 3..once a week if you're lucky...and if you can be there at opening. My Wave 3 set is coming from BBTS for $55. Thank Hasbro!

Predictions for Wave 4: 7 repacks, 2 Chitari, 2 Nick Fury, 1 Maria Hill. And the repacks won't be from Wave 3, it will be even more Cap, Thor, and Iron Man. Waiting for that pre-order to open...
