My son who is seven has really gotten into legos. He loves the mini figures. He now would like to collect the ninja ninjago minifigs. I looked on ebay and to my surprise 4 regular ninjas go for over $40.00. So these figures which are no bigger than an inch are getting over ten dollars. Its not like they are new sculpts. So why are mini ffigures so exp.ensive and popular? I like my superheroes figures, but at least i understand shortpacked figures go for more than standard general figures. I must say when i find a sealed mini ffigure,i will know my son will enjoy the figure with his legoes. Avian thank you for chiming in with your lego thoughts. : )

Is it really just the ninjas for that much, or is it them with the tops they stand on? For some at least it would be easier/ more cost effective to just buy a set that includes them if you don't care about the game.
Then again, they have move onto the second round of sets of them vs. snakes, so that could help explain the higher prices.

Is this really off topic?

I was going to post on the buzzboard however, I didnt see it as a toy find, just a toy question. Its up to Bobbi if she wants to move it to the other board.

Since my gut instinct said over here, I posted on the off topic forum

This discussion is totally "on topic."

Minifigures are high dollar when they only come in a certain set. Take Hulk for example. He's pushing $30. Other Star Wars characters go for more.

I would suggest doing a lil research into which characters he wants and which sets they come in. You may be better off finding a set than buying individual figures. (Or at least have a set to boot.)

Also, Target is having a buy one get one half off until Saturday at close.

Thank you for the help, I actually found that Walmart sells the Min figures with a small accessory, so I am thinking this is the best way to get the ninjas for my son
