I finally got around to opening mine and holy s**t is it a pain in the neck to get to stand. I think we may have finally crossed a line where a toy company got too realistic with the articulation. Too many joints and a top heavy head=constantly hearing a "thump" from my table.
I read somewhere that someone actually fixed it by taking it apart and adding some small washers. You'd have to do some research to find it. I'm wondering if the Target and Wal Mart previous exclusives (on which the K-Mart is based) had the same problem. I have one, but I never opened it and it's boxed up someplace.
My Walmart version stands well, I'm looking at it right now >_>.
Rebelscum has a thirty-eight page thread about the AT-ST. From what I could gather, the Walmart version was made with a hard plastic in the area of the ratchet joints which was prone to break. Softer plastic was used for the Target and Kmart versions, less breakage but the joints can't hold up the weight.
This is such a shame, because the sculpt and detail are beautiful. And with the price at K-Mart this week being under $25, I was going to pick up one or two more. I'll have to try to track down the info on a "fix". Anybody else have any ideas?
